You have two options for assigning a stock for your items. For a quantity, you can either enter a stock manually or select a stock from the list. The stocks are displayed in the quantities and also in parts lists (e.g. order).
Bricks-Stock can automatically assign the defined storage locations for your items. This takes into account which quantities (volume) are included and that no similar items or colors are included.
You define the storage locations using the “Item storage area” menu; the “ItemChange” role is required for this. You can find the setting for automatically assigning storage locations under "Admin Shop Settings-Warehouse", for this you must belong to the "AdminShop" role.
Stock definition
The warehouse system is structured as follows: You have a storage area (e.g. shelf) and it contains storage spaces (e.g. drawers). In a storage location there can be a subdivision 1...n (e.g. 1=left, 2=right or 1=front, 2=back).
The name of a storage bin is then, for example, C01.01-003-02 (storage area C01.01, storage bin 003, position 02).
You can either always define a new stock sections or a new stock place with positions. Alternatively, you can also copy existing stock sections and stock places
If necessary, you can specify in a stock section whether only items from a certain group (e.g. minifigures, sets) can be contained there.
For each category, you can specify that only certain stock sections are used for this. This makes sense if you want to sort your items by groups in your warehouse.
Setting (Admin)
If the storage bin search is activated, the system will automatically assign you a new storage bin when you enter a quantity for an item.
Empty storage locations are deactivated for items when they are completely empty. The function is executed if you either enter a quantity of 0 for the item or, for example, if items have been processed in an order.
The maximum occupancy indicates how much volume of a storage bin is used to automatically allocate the storage bin. The contents in the storage location as well as the quantity that would be added are taken into account. Bricks-Stock calculates the volume of the items based on the existing dimensions. It can still happen that an item no longer fits in a storage location because the geometry of the item is very complex. A good value from practice is between 63% and 80%.
With the last number of storage bins you indicate which deactivated storage bins are not taken into account. This way you can avoid that when you search for a storage location again, a storage location that may be too small is assigned again.
The number of different items indicates how many different items can be in a storage location. You can also manually assign the same storage location to several items. This setting only applies if the storage location itself does not specify that the quantities are ignored. If the value is 0, the function is switched off (not recommended).
The maximum number of items that can be placed in a storage location during the automatic storage location search. This only applies if the number of different items is greater than 2. If the value is 0, the function is switched off.
